SICA AFI Crowned SFF 1 Champions

SICA AFI have been crowned the inaugural Samoa Franchise Festival (SFF 1) Champions, following an impressive victory over SICA GALU in the tournament final.

AFI posted 153 runs in their 20 overs, led by a blistering 74 from just 44 balls by Player of the Final, Peniel Zinck. His innings provided the foundation for AFI's total and proved to be the difference in a highly anticipated championship match.

SICA GALU came out firing in the chase and looked well placed early, racing to 43 runs after just four overs. However, the momentum shifted when tournament leading run scorer Darren Roache was dismissed.

From there, GALU struggled to build the partnerships required to maintain the required run rate. Despite their strong start, AFI's bowlers and fielders continued to apply pressure, with GALU eventually falling 46 runs short of the target.

Congratulations to SICA AFI on becoming the first-ever Samoa Franchise Festival Champions!

More importantly, congratulations to all three teams, players, coaches and everyone involved for contributing to a fantastic week of cricket. The inaugural SFF provided an exciting platform for Samoa's established players, emerging talent and the next generation of cricketers to compete alongside one another.

A huge thank you must also go to our Principal Sponsor, SCB, for their incredible support of the festival, as well as PGI, Sign Studio and SSAB for helping make SFF 1 possible.
